Richard J. "Rich" Russell 55 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at his home in Mt. Pleasant.
The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, December 7, 2014 from 1 to 3 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. According to his wishes his body has been cremated and a memorial has been established in his memory.
Rich was born on January 28, 1959, in Ottumwa the son of Richard & Kathryn Roberta Richards Russell. He was a full time father and grandfather who devoted his life to brightening those of his family and friends. He enjoyed playing video games with his children and making everyone smile.
He is survived by his life partner Sharon Corron of Mt. Pleasant and his children: Ryan Walton, Reed Walton and his children: Brayden & Kylee, Robin Walton and Randi Walton all of Mt. Pleasant, Brandy Russell and her children: Zakyah & Zyana; and Isiah Graham all of Burlington.
His brothers and sisters: Susan (Ricky) Smith of Eden North Carolina, Cheryl (Dan) Fraise of West Point, Helen Wiele of Mt. Pleasant, Wayne Russell of Mt. Pleasant, Terry (Cindy) French of Hillsboro and Richard (Linda) French of Sacramento, California.
Rich was preceded in death by his parents.
