Ruth Hollis Obituary
Ruth E. Hollis 95 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Friday, March 23, 2012, at Park Place Care Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Robert Spilger officiating. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home where the family will be present from 5 to 7 p.m. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery rural Mt. Pleasant.
Ruth was born on February 9, 1917, in Wausaukee, Wisconsin, the daughter of Albert & Maude Leighton Davidson. She was united in marriage to Arthur C. Hollis on March 7, 1950. Ruth was a homemaker, worked on the family farm, raised chickens and sold eggs, enjoyed doing embroider, puzzles and spending time with her family and neighbors. She a member of the LBS Club.
Ruth is survived by her children: Mary Fergusen and John Hollis both of Mt. Pleasant and Nancy Huffman of New London; her grand-daughter Laura (Keith) Wilson of Mt. Pleasant, I great grandson, 4 step great grandchildren and 1 step great great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Bob and two brothers Robert and Remus.
