Ruth Runyon Obituary

Ruth L. Runyon 80 of rural Hillsboro, Iowa passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2007, at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday February 15, 2007 at 10:30 at the Hillsboro Baptist Church with the Rev. David Doerr officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials may be made to the Hillsboro Baptist Church in her memory.

Ruth was born on October 14, 1926 in rural Stockport, Iowa the daughter of George France & Bertha Ellen Standley Watson. She was united in marriage to William L. (Billy) Runyon on November 7, 1948 in Fairfield, Iowa. She lived all her adult life in rural Hillsboro, as a housewife and loved to make quilts for her family. She was a member of the Hillsboro Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of Hillsboro, one daughter Doris Carr and her husband Tom of Keosauqua, and three sons: Richard and his wife Karen of Spokane, Washington, Daryl and his wife Dianne of Hillsboro and Robert and his wife Bev of Stockport. One daughter-in-law Rhonda Runyon of Hillsboro. 13 grand-children and 9 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Larry, a grandson Eric Runyon and six brothers: Beryl, Hollis, Loren, Edward, Waldon and one in infancy. Two sisters, Loretha Heisel and Laurel Bloomquist.
