Steven Gene Robbins, 68, of Oquawka, Illinois passed away unexpectedly at his home on July 27, 2023.
Steven was born on April 22, 1955, in Aledo, Illinois, the son of Howard Gene and Barbara Jean (Richardson) Robbins. Steve graduated in 1973 from Winola High School in Viola, Illinois.
He worked for Webber Farms near Viola, Illinois for a number of years as a farm hand and carpenter. He used his master carpenter skills to build a church on the Webber Farms property, which was called “The Church on the Hill”. Steven hand crafted everything in the building, something he was very proud of. Steven then worked for the Carpenters Union 166 out of Davenport from 1989 until 2015. He then went on to work maintenance at Catfish Bend and Great River Entertainment in Burlington until he retired in 2017.
Steven is survived by his faithful dog, Zeke, his best friends, whom he considered family, Dallas and Anita Parker and their family, Dakoda (Jill) Parker, Deegan Parker, Daxtyn Parker of Wayland, Iowa, Dalton Parker, Daryl Parker, Aubry Parker, of Wayland, Iowa, Daryn (Michelle) Parker, Dayne Parker of Washington, Iowa, Nevaeh Parker of Gladstone, Illinois, his two sisters, Jan Brown, of Prophetstown, Illinois and Candee Kendall of Aledo, Illinois.
Cremation has been entrusted to the care of Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. No services are being planned at this time.
