Susie Willis Obituary

Susie C. Willis 85 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Sunrise Terrace Care Center at Winfield.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 3, 2007 at Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Michael R. Scudder officiating. Friends may call after 2:00 p.m. on Monday July 2, 2007 at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorials have been established to the Faith Lutheran Church, American Diabetes Association or to the Sunrise Terrace Activity Fund. According to her wishes her body will be cremated following the services.

Susie was born on July 8, 1921 at Agency, Iowa the daughter of Edward & Anna Brodthage Rudat. She attended Crawfordsville School and graduated from Mt. Pleasant High School. She was united in marriage to George L. Willis on September 2, 1945 at the Faith Lutheran Church in Mt. Pleasant. She was a homemaker and had cooked for the Mt. Pleasant Community Schools for a number of years. She loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she loved her flower gardens and was an avid bird watcher. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church of Mt. Pleasant.

She is survived by her children: Linda Wilson and her husband Dennis of Twin Lake, Michigan, Janet Anderson and her husband Dennis of Olds, and Steven Willis and his wife Andrea of Mt. Pleasant. 13 grand children and 10 great grandchildren. One brother Fred Rudat of Fairfield, two sisters: Lucy Ford of Mt. Pleasant and Ruby Brockway of Ottumwa.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother Donald and one sister Elsie Tackenberg.
