Thisom Baccam Obituary
Thisom Baccam 87, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Monday, June 11, 2012, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. There will be no visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Following the services cremation will be accorded and burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at a later date.
Thisom was born on January 15, 1925, in Moung Pieng, Sonla Tai Federation, the daughter of Leungvan Peng & Leungvan Doi. She was united in marriage to Voung Baccam.
She and her husband moved to Mt. Pleasant in 1975, and she was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, spending time with her family and watching professional wrestling.
She is survived by her children: Oat Baccam, Khit Baccam, Sang Baccam, Bock Babcock, Viengsack Baccam, Vonthong Baccam and Vongkham Tuazon. 19 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; a godson Sam Baccam.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; two sons: Tian and Choun Baccam, one daughter Xuan Baccam and three brothers.
