Thomas McLachlan Obituary
Thomas Herbert "Fluff" McLachlan, 57, of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Tuesday, December 11, 2012, from injuries he received in a construction accident in Davenport, Iowa.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 15, 2012, at the Murphy Funeral Home 408 N. Broadway St. Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. According to his wishes his body has been cremated. A memorial has been established in his memory.
Thomas was born on January 19, 1955, in Mt. Pleasant the son of William & Virginia L. McDonald McLachlan. He grew up on a farm south of New London and attended Danville Schools. He and Jackie Wesely Mason have been together for 25 years. He worked as a lead equipment operator for Hawkeye Paving Company since 1987; he previously did construction work and farming. Thomas enjoyed auto racing, music, photography, camping, nature and spending time with friends and family especially with his grandson Rhion. He was known as a hard worker, as generous and loyal to family and friends, and for his laugh and smile.
He is survived by his wife Jackie; his daughter Lynne Mason both of Mt. Pleasant, one grandson, one brother; Ivan McLachlan of West Richland, Washington, three sisters; Kathryn Menke of Donnellson, Ila Robinson and Amy McLachlan both of Burlington, one nephew and four nieces.
Thomas was preceded in death by his parents.
