Vuong Baccam 86 of Mt. Pleasant passed away on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 at his home in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 3:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Mt. Pleasant with Rev. Herb Shafer officiating. There will be no visitation at the Murphy Funeral Home of Mt. Pleasant. Following the service his body will be cremated and burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Mt. Pleasant.
Vuong was born on December 3, 1922 in Moung Pieng, Sonla Tai Federation the son of Boun and Ngoui Lo Baccam. He was united in marriage to Som Luongthi. Prior to moving to Mt. Pleasant he was a language teacher in Sonla Tai Federation, teaching Vietnamese, French and Tai Dam. They have lived in Mt. Pleasant since 1975 and he worked at Metro mail in Mt. Pleasant until his retirement. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Mt. Pleasant and loved to watch professional wrestling and CNN News.
Vuong is survived by his wife of Mt. Pleasant and his children: Oat, Khit and Sang Baccam, Bock Babcock, Viengsack Baccam, Vonthong Baccam and Vongkham Tuazon. 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren; a godson Sam Baccam, Two brothers and one sister.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sons: Tian and Choun Baccam and one daughter Xuan Baccam. 9 brothers and 11 sisters.
