Wanita Milks Obituary
Wanita L. Milks 85, of Salem passed away on Thursday, June 6, 2013, at Park Place Elder Living in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 10, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. at the Salem Congregational Church in Salem with Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. A memorial has been established to Park Place Elder Living in her memory.
Wanita was born on September 26, 1927, in rural Henry County Iowa the daughter of Elmer Perry & Mae Garmoe Gill. She was united in marriage to Clifford W. Milks on January 9, 1946, in Mt. Pleasant. He preceded her in death on November 11, 1993. She worked at Henry County Home and later at the Henry County Health Center both of Mt. Pleasant. She enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and other Salem kids. She attended Salem Congregational Church.
She is survived by her children; Peggy Hendricks (Larry) of Salem and Gene Milks (Emily) of Mason, Ohio. 12 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; her sister Pauline Vandenberg of Burlington.
Wanita was preceded in death by her parents, husband three brothers and one sister.
