William M. Ross, 83 of Hillsboro, Iowa passed away on Wednesday, August 16, 2006, at the Henry County Health Center in Mt. Pleasant.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. at the Hillsboro Christian Church. Rev. Dave Callen will officiate. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Friday, August 18, at the Beatty-Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial has been established to the Hillsboro Christian Church in his memory.
Bill was born on August 23, 1922, in the Big Mound Community the son of Wayne & Mary DeRosear Ross. He was united in marriage to Katherine King on June 9, 1946, at the Salem Friends Church, they were the first to be married in the church. He farmed his entire life in the Hillsboro community on the family farm. He loved his dog, his horses and his John Deere Collection. He was a member of the Hillsboro Christian Church.
He is survived by his wife Katherine of Hillsboro, his children: Penelope Ensingmer of Mt. Pleasant, Tony Ross of Hillsboro, and Kellie Kurre of Quincy. Four grand-daughters and five great grandchildren. One brother: Milan Ross of Hillsboro and one sister Estelle Boley of Cedar Rapids.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson.
