Wilma M. Wilson 94, of Hillsboro passed away on Monday, October 31, 2011, at the Van Buren County Hospital in Keosauqua.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011 at the Hillsboro Baptist Church in Hillsboro with Pastor Duane LaCock officiating. Burial will be in the Hillsboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Thursday at the Murphy Funeral Home in Mt. Pleasant where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Memorials may be directed to the Hillsboro Library or to the Hillsboro Fire Department.
Wilma was born on March 5, 1917, in Hillsboro the daughter of Dale & Nina Moxley Eyler. She graduated from Hillsboro High School in the class of 1934, and was united in marriage to Dale Wilson on September 17, 1938, at Truro, Iowa. She worked at the Hillsboro Post Office and become the Postmaster from 1972 to 1982, when she retired after 42 years of service. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary, Order of the Eastern Star, Bonaparte Chapter of the P.E.O., T.T.T, was a charter member of the Hillsboro Alpha Club, she also wrote the local happenings for the Burlington Hawkeye.
Wilma is survived by her grand-daughter Becky Burk of Hillsboro, and many special cousins.
Wilma is preceded in death by her parents, husband and her daughter Sandra Burk, her stepmother Pluma Eyler.
