Veterans Overview

The Military Funeral Honors includes the folding of the flag, presenting the flag to the family, the gun salute and the playing of Taps. Here at Murphy Funeral Home we will arrange for those Military Honors for a fallen service man or a veteran that has been honorably discharged from the United States Armed Services. In order to arrange for these services a copy of the Veterans DD 214 certificate of honorable discharge from the Armed Services will be required. If you are not able to locate this form we would be honored to obtain a copy of this for you.

Headstone for a Veteran: the Department of Veterans Affairs furnishes upon request, no charge to the family, a government headstone or marker for any eligible veteran. Murphy Funeral Home will order a marker or stone of your choice and have it installed in the cemetery of your choice.

The United States Flag is provided at no cost to the Veteran to be draped over the casket or folded and placed in the casket of an Honorable Discharged Veteran of the United States Armed Services furnished to honor the memory of the Veteran for his or her military service to the United States. Murphy Funeral Home will obtain the American flag for the funeral service.
